Each service at Mongkol is calibrated to a different level of need. We assess first, then recommend — so the work matches what your watch actually requires.
Our Method
How every service begins
Every watch that comes to Mongkol is assessed before any work is agreed. We examine the running quality — amplitude, rate, beat error — alongside the visible condition of the case, crown, and crystal. We then share what we've observed and which service tier is appropriate.
This conversation is always without obligation. If the watch needs more than you expected, or less, we say so plainly. The assessment visit is free of charge and open to walk-in clients during working hours.
Intake & Assessment — We examine the watch and share findings with you.
Service Agreement — We agree on the service tier and any special considerations.
Workshop Service — Work is carried out entirely in-house by our team.
Final Testing & Documentation — Timing is verified; a written record is prepared.
Collection — The watch is returned with the service document and care guidance.
Service 01
Refresh & Lubrication

A light, attentive refresh for mechanical watches that run but feel a little tired. We clean accessible areas, apply fresh lubrication to key contact points, regulate the timing gently, and inspect seals. A short written note follows with simple care suggestions.

Best for: watches running but slightly slow or gaining; pieces recently serviced within the past 3–5 years that need a refreshing interval service.
Service 02
Complete Overhaul

A full service for automatic and hand-wound movements needing deeper attention. We disassemble, clean, and re-oil the entire movement, renew the mainspring where worn, and regulate across positions for dependable timekeeping. Gaskets are refreshed and the case checked throughout.

Service 03
Fine Restoration

A refined restoration for elegant or vintage dress watches. The movement is overhauled to a high standard, the case finish renewed with care, and dial and hands attended to in keeping with the watch's original look. Every step is discussed and documented.

What applies to every service
In-House Only
Every service is performed entirely within the Mongkol workshop. We do not forward work to other parties.
Service Documentation
A written record of work performed and timing results accompanies every completed watch at collection.
Mid-Service Communication
If anything unexpected is found during the service, we contact you before proceeding. No additional costs without your knowledge.
Controlled Storage
Watches awaiting or completing service are stored in a humidity-managed environment — important given Chiang Mai's seasonal conditions.
